Germantown's New Sanitation Program in Place

The City's new sanitation service Going Green for Germantown is well underway. The new program continues curbside collection, back door collection, and recycling; and adds recycling of yard debris.

To assist residents in adapting to the change in service, notices have been placed on trash not meeting new guidelines. For example, courtesy notices were handed out to those who mix yard debris with household trash.

Yard debris must be placed in clear plastic bags.

Yard debris placed in dark garbage bags will no longer be collected.

You may notice a change in the time of collection from your home. The new vendor will be operating new collection routes, so your actual pickup time may change. Your pickup day will remain the same.

Neighborhood services would like to remind residents not to call to report missed service until the day after collection.

Anyone with questions is urged to contact neighborhood services at 757-7263.
